LinkedIn is the new social media site for professional people. Professions such as realtors, accountants, appraisers, business owners,insurance agents,and investors are all good examples of the type of people you will find online on this site.
You must set up a profile with your bio and current profession, plus awards and other recognitions. This is done to better differentiate you from someone else in a similar profession. I have 2 businesses, but this would really best work with my short sale business, rather than my online business. Like Facebook, one of the most valuable features I have found on LinkedIn is their groups that you may join or be invited to join. There are a lot of like minded individuals on LinkedIn, that share some of the same passions that I do. I joined about 20 groups specific to real estate and real estate investing. These are a phenomenal resource to learn about topics similar to your industry, and network with people with those same goals and interests.
The ability to network with people online is an invaluable tool on LinkedIn, and can be an asset to any business. The more people you meet, the more you can help. They can help you accomplish your goals. It is a win-win type relationship for both sides. The importance of this is that all successful businesses had help, and usually a team to work together for successful completion of their goals. There are groups on Facebook that are good also, but a little more broad in topic. LinkedIn's groups are far more specific, and help me to learn and network on a daily basis. You can also use LinkedIn to add friends or colleagues that you knew previously. This is a feature that is similar to Facebook.
LinkedIn is a top source to get business name out there. There are more specific groups to focus on for more business and to add contacts you can network with on a daily basis. The groups feature is awesome, and allows anyone to be able to learn at your own leisure, while making strong professional contacts that can last a lifetime. You need to get over there and set up a business profile today. if you are a business professional, you need to check it out today. Link with other professionals and learn immense business topics too. You will be amazed at the resources they have there for you.
